During my 15 years of experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting, I noticed that patients who need special care and attention were often neglected and overlooked. The daily activities and workload at a retail pharmacy made it difficult for me to focus on patients who needed my attention the most, and a feeling of guilt started to grow more and more each day.
I would see terminally ill patients come to the pharmacy and experience things that they shouldn’t, such as waiting in long lines and making frequent returns to the pharmacy. Home health nurses would wait in line for long periods of time just to get medication for their home- bound patients when they should be focused on more important clinical needs. Care givers and residential care facility staff of Elderly patients and patients with disabilities would get frustrated because of frequent medication errors and wait times due to the lack of attention and communication. Because of this reality that we face in a retail setting of pharmacy, I had a strong desire to open a closed-door pharmacy so I can eliminate these negative experiences.
My goal is to focus on the patients in hospice, home health care, and residential care facilities. It is my top priority to provide compassionate pharmaceutical care to these patients as a medication expert. I devote all my time to closely manage patients’ medications, constantly communicate with patients and care teams to deliver the best health outcomes, and promptly deliver medications to their doorsteps. I make sure patients and care teams feel a sense of relief knowing that their medications are prepared in good hands. I have a vision to help patients live the best possible life and I will not yield until I achieve my goal.

Greetings, I am Andrew Chang, a co-owner and a licensed pharmacy technician with a career spanning over two decades. My journey in the world of pharmacy has been defined by a steadfast commitment to providing compassionate care to my community. From the very start, as a licensed pharmacy technician, I recognized the potential impact of my work on the lives of patients, and I embraced the responsibility with enthusiasm. Serving my community with compassion and dedication became the core of my professional identity. Building strong connections with patients and healthcare providers alike, I understood that each interaction was an opportunity to make a positive difference.
As my career unfolded, I found that my heart was drawn to a particular group of individuals - the elderly and those requiring specialized care. The unique needs and vulnerabilities of these patients resonated deeply within me. It was in these encounters that my true passion was ignited, and I knew that providing exceptional care for them would be my calling. I made it my mission to create a comforting and supportive environment for my patients, ensuring they felt valued and cared for during their health journey.
My journey is an ongoing one, and I am excited about the possibilities it holds. My heart remains committed to making a difference in the lives of those I serve, one caring interaction at a time. For me, true fulfillment lies in knowing that I have brought comfort, support, and healing to those who needed it the most.
